About the Canon EOS 40D DSLR Body

The Canon EOS 40D is a mid-range DSLR aimed at enthusiasts. Its 10.1-megapixel APS-C sensor delivers clean, detailed images, while the 6.5 frames-per-second continuous shooting and 9-point autofocus make it capable of action and wildlife photography. The 3-inch LCD with Live View allows framing via the screen, and the bright pentaprism viewfinder gives a clear, accurate view. Built with a magnesium alloy body, the 40D is robust and comfortable to handle. It uses Canon EF and EF-S lenses, and the included body-only option is ideal if you already own compatible glass. The camera also features Dust Delete Data and a self-cleaning sensor unit to help keep images spot-free.
