About the Nikon D40x DSLR with 18-55mm Lens
The Nikon D40x is a small, light entry-level DSLR aimed at people moving up from compacts. Its 10.2-megapixel DX-format (APS-C) sensor is far larger than a compact or phone sensor, so low-light images are cleaner and background blur comes more easily. Controls are kept simple, with a helpful on-screen guide to settings, and the camera is quick to pick up for a first DSLR. This kit pairs the body with the AF-S DX 18-55mm zoom, a versatile everyday lens covering wide-angle to short telephoto. It suits anyone wanting proper DSLR image quality and access to Nikon's F-mount lens range without spending much.
