About the Nikon D5000 DSLR Body

The Nikon D5000 is a mid-range DX-format DSLR that sits between the entry-level D3000 and the D90. Its 12.3-megapixel APS-C sensor delivers clean, detailed images with shallow depth of field, and the 2.7-inch vari-angle screen lets you compose from awkward angles or when shooting video. It records 720p HD video, though autofocus is not available during recording, and the 11-point AF system with 3D tracking keeps moving subjects sharp. The D5000 uses Nikon's F mount, so it accepts a huge range of lenses, and it includes Live View and a built-in sensor cleaning system. This listing is for the camera body only; a lens is required to take photos.
