The Nikon D90 is a mid-range DSLR that was a favourite among enthusiasts for its blend of performance and usability. Its 12.3-megapixel DX-format sensor delivers clean, detailed images, and the 3-inch 920k-dot LCD provides a bright, clear view for reviewing shots and navigating menus. The D90 was the first DSLR to offer movie recording, capturing 720p HD video at 24fps with monaural sound (autofocus is not available during recording). It shoots continuously at up to 4.5 frames per second, ideal for action and sports. The included AF-S DX 18-105mm VR lens covers a versatile 27-157.5mm equivalent range, with Vibration Reduction to combat camera shake. With a built-in focus motor, the D90 autofocuses with older AF lenses too, and its dual command dials and top LCD give direct control. It remains a capable choice for learning photography or as a backup body.
