About the Canon EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM Zoom Lens

The Canon EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM is the standard kit zoom for Canon's EOS M mirrorless system. Its 15-45mm range gives an equivalent 24-72mm on the APS-C sensor, covering wide-angle landscapes through to short telephoto portraits. Optical Image Stabilisation helps keep handheld shots sharp, and the stepping motor (STM) autofocus is smooth and quiet, making it suitable for video as well as stills. The lens retracts into a compact barrel when not in use, so it stores easily and keeps the camera bag light. It is a versatile, lightweight everyday lens for EOS M shooters.

Questions about this model

Will this lens fit my Canon DSLR?

No. It has a Canon EF-M mount, designed only for EOS M mirrorless cameras. It will not fit Canon EF or EF-S DSLRs.

Is this lens good for video?

Yes. The STM autofocus is smooth and quiet, and optical image stabilisation helps reduce shake, making it well suited to video recording.

What is the equivalent focal length on an EOS M camera?

Because EOS M cameras use an APS-C sensor, the 15-45mm lens gives an equivalent field of view of approximately 24-72mm.
