About the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III Lens
The Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III is the classic standard zoom supplied with many Canon APS-C DSLRs. Its 18-55mm range covers wide-angle to short telephoto, making it a versatile everyday lens for travel, portraits, landscapes and general photography. The optical design uses an aspherical element to help keep images sharp, and the DC micro-motor autofocus is adequate for stills, though it is not silent and may be audible during video recording. It is a compact, lightweight lens that balances well on smaller Canon bodies, and it accepts 58mm filters. This is the third-generation version of Canon's non-stabilised 18-55mm kit lens, with a simplified body design.
