The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G is a compact, lightweight prime lens made for Nikon's DX-format (APS-C) DSLRs. On those bodies its 35mm focal length gives an angle of view close to a 50mm lens on full frame – a natural, undistorted perspective that suits portraits, street, documentary and everyday shooting. The bright f/1.8 maximum aperture lets in plenty of light for indoor and evening work, and allows shallow depth of field for blurred backgrounds. A Silent Wave Motor gives quick, quiet autofocus with full-time manual override, and the seven-blade diaphragm produces smooth out-of-focus highlights.

Compatibility

Fits Nikon F-mount cameras. Designed for DX-format (APS-C) DSLRs, where it gives a standard field of view; on full-frame FX bodies it works but the image is cropped to the DX area. Autofocus works on bodies with a built-in focus motor as well as those without, since the lens has its own SWM motor. Takes 52mm filters.
