About this model
The Nikon D3000 is a straightforward entry-level DSLR designed for newcomers to interchangeable-lens photography. Its 10.2-megapixel DX-format (APS-C) sensor is far larger than those in phones or compact cameras, delivering cleaner low-light images and more control over depth of field. The on-screen Guide Mode explains settings as you shoot, helping you learn the basics of aperture, shutter speed and ISO. This kit includes the AF-S DX 18-55mm VR lens, a versatile everyday zoom with Vibration Reduction to reduce blur from camera shake. The D3000 uses Nikon's F mount, giving access to a wide range of lenses, and it accepts SD/SDHC memory cards.
