About this model
The Nikon D3100 is an easy, reliable first DSLR. Its 14.2-megapixel DX-format (APS-C) sensor is many times larger than a phone or compact camera sensor, giving cleaner low-light images and natural background blur. The built-in Guide Mode walks beginners through settings step by step, and it was one of the first Nikon DSLRs to record Full HD video with autofocus. This kit includes the AF-S DX 18-55mm VR lens – a versatile everyday zoom with Vibration Reduction for sharper handheld shots. Ideal if you're learning photography or want proper DSLR image quality on a budget, with access to Nikon's huge range of F-mount lenses.
