About this model
The Nikon D5100 is a mid-range DSLR that sits above the entry-level D3100. Its 16.2-megapixel DX-format (APS-C) sensor delivers clean low-light images and natural background blur, while the 3-inch vari-angle screen lets you shoot from awkward angles. It records Full HD 1080p video at 30, 25 or 24fps with autofocus, and offers a range of creative effects. This kit includes the AF-S DX 18-55mm VR lens – a versatile everyday zoom with Vibration Reduction for sharper handheld shots. Ideal if you want better image quality and more control than a compact, with access to Nikon's huge range of F-mount lenses.
