About this model
The Nikon D800 is a professional-grade full-frame DSLR built around a 36.3-megapixel FX-format sensor, delivering outstanding resolution for landscape, studio and commercial photography. Its 51-point autofocus system (with 15 cross-type sensors) tracks subjects reliably, while the 91,000-pixel RGB metering sensor ensures accurate exposure. The D800 records Full HD 1080p video at 30, 25 and 24fps, with uncompressed HDMI output and headphone monitoring. A 3.2-inch 921k-dot LCD and a bright optical viewfinder (100% coverage) aid composition. Dual card slots (CF and SD) provide flexible storage, and the magnesium-alloy body is weather-sealed for demanding environments. The D800 is a solid choice for photographers who need high resolution without the bulk of a flagship body.
