About this model
The Samsung Galaxy Camera (EK-GC100) is a compact camera built around Android, combining a 16.3-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and a 21x optical zoom lens with a 4.8-inch touchscreen. Because it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, you can install apps, edit photos on the device and share images directly over Wi-Fi or mobile data (where a SIM is used). The lens covers a versatile 23–483mm equivalent range, and the camera includes optical image stabilisation and a pop-up Xenon flash. It is an unusual hybrid: a proper zoom camera with the interface and connectivity of a smartphone, aimed at people who want to shoot and share without a separate phone.
