About this model
The Sony E 16-55mm f/2.8 G is a premium standard zoom for Sony APS-C mirrorless cameras. Its 16-55mm range gives an equivalent field of view of roughly 24-82.5mm on full frame, covering wide-angle to short telephoto, and the constant f/2.8 maximum aperture stays bright throughout the zoom range for low light and shallow depth of field. G-series optics use extra-low dispersion and aspherical elements to control distortion and chromatic aberration, with a Nano AR coating to reduce flare and ghosting. A linear motor delivers fast, quiet autofocus for stills and video, and the lens is sealed against dust and moisture for use in poor weather.

Questions about this model
Is the Sony 16-55mm f/2.8 G suitable for full-frame cameras?
It is designed for APS-C. On a full-frame E-mount body it works with an automatic APS-C crop, giving a narrower field of view.
Does the 16-55mm f/2.8 G have image stabilisation?
No, the lens has no built-in stabilisation. Stabilisation comes from the camera body on models that have it.
What is the equivalent focal length on APS-C?
With the 1.5x APS-C crop, 16-55mm gives roughly the same view as 24-82.5mm on a full-frame camera.
