About the Sony PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Console

The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition is Sony's disc-free games console. It plays the same PS5 games as the standard model, but without a Blu-ray drive, so all games are downloaded from the PlayStation Store, and media apps are available from the Media section. The custom 825GB SSD virtually eliminates loading screens, while the GPU supports ray tracing and up to 120fps on compatible TVs. The included DualSense controller adds haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for more immersive play. It also runs most PS4 games via backward compatibility, and supports 4K Blu-ray? No – being digital-only, it cannot play physical discs. If you prefer downloading games and want the same performance as the standard PS5, this is the version to choose.
